🥁 Position Overview
IGT is seeking a Platform Engineer – DevOps (Build & Integration Focus) with deep expertise in build systems, continuous integration, and developer productivity tooling. This role is critical in maintaining a reliable and scalable software delivery process that accelerates our engineering velocity.
You'll work closely with engineering teams to ensure that builds are fast, secure, repeatable, and observable – while also contributing to the infrastructure and automation that power our development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, strong in build and packaging tools, and passionate about streamlining and optimizing developer workflows.
🛠️ Key responsibilities include
• Design, implement, and maintain build pipelines across multiple technology stacks (.NET, Java, Node.js, C++) using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, MSBuild, Gradle, Maven, and npm.
• Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines, integrating unit/integration tests, static analysis (e.g. SonarQube, Mend), and artifact packaging across diverse environments.
• Create and manage developer tooling to support local builds, pre-commit checks, code quality gates, and deployment automation.
• Manage package repositories and artifact management (NuGet, npm, pip, Helm, etc.) ensuring secure and consistent dependency handling across projects.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot build failures, reduce build times, and ensure reproducible builds.
• Improve release automation workflows for both cloud-native and on-prem environments, integrating with tools like Argo CD, Helm, and Docker.
• Automate configuration and provisioning of development and build infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting for build systems and infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
• Champion best practices for DevOps, developer experience, and operational excellence across teams.
• Contribute to internal documentation and training to improve platform adoption and self-service.
📚 Ideal Candidate Profile
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles with a strong focus on build systems and CI/CD.
• Deep experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with build tools like CMake, MSBuild, dotnet, Gradle, Maven, npm, and package managers like NuGet, pip, Helm.
• Strong scripting experience using Groovy, Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate build/test/deploy pipelines.
• Experience working with containerization and deployment systems (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and tools like Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Experience implementing code scanning and security tooling (e.g., SonarQube, Mend).
• Solid understanding of source control systems (Git), branching strategies, and PR workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a mindset focused on developer productivity and reducing build-to-release friction.
⭐ Bonus points if you have
• Experience supporting cross-platform build environments (Linux, Windows).
• Background in release management or experience coordinating production releases.
• Exposure to test automation tools like Selenium or Postman.
• Familiarity with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
• Passion for internal developer platforms and improving engineering velocity through tooling.
