🥁 Position Overview
IGT is seeking a Platform Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure with strong AWS expertise to design, build, and maintain cloud and on-premise infrastructure that supports monolithic and microservices-based applications. This role plays a key part in ensuring our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and highly available, while also enabling self-service and automation for engineering teams.
As a part of the Platform team, you’ll collaborate closely with DevOps and development teams to ensure seamless deployment and monitoring of workloads across environments. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, high-impact role and values clarity, automation, and operational excellence.
🛠️ Key responsibilities include
• Architect, implement, and manage secure and scalable AWS infrastructure to support legacy and Kubernetes workloads, data services, APIs, and CI/CD tooling.
• Design and automate provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to support infrastructure as code across environments (cloud and on-prem).
• Manage networking, VPCs, IAM, VPNs, subnets, routing, and security groups to ensure compliant and secure connectivity.
• Support hybrid infrastructure setups, including bare metal provisioning, and act as a bridge between on-prem systems and cloud services.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, or New Relic to ensure system observability and uptime.
• Lead efforts to improve system reliability, resilience, and disaster recovery, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Automate lifecycle management for third-party and custom services using Helm, Kubernetes Operators, and Terraform modules.
• Collaborate with Kubernetes and DevOps engineers to maintain consistent infrastructure abstraction layers and improve the developer and delivery experience.
• Conduct cost analysis and optimization of AWS usage across services.
• Contribute to documentation, internal training, and platform onboarding processes to enable team autonomy.
📚 Ideal candidate profile
• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or DevOps, with a focus on AWS environments.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services: EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, IAM, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and VPCs.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and optionally CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in networking and security principles, including VPC design, VPN/IPSec tunnels, firewalls, and IAM policies.
• Experience supporting Kubernetes infrastructure and deploying services in hybrid (cloud + on-prem) environments.
• Hands-on experience packaging and deploying stateful and stateless workloads like Redis, RabbitMQ, NGINX, API gateways, etc., on Kubernetes.
• Strong scripting skills with Groovy, Python, Bash, or similar for automation and tooling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tooling integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD).
⭐ Bonus points if you have
• Experience with Ceph, MetalLB, or bare metal provisioning for Kubernetes.
• Background in compliance and cloud security practices, including secrets management and audit logging.
• Exposure to incident management, on-call rotation, and root cause analysis (RCA) processes.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud or disaster recovery designs.
