Role Overview
IGT PlayDigital is looking for a software developer who will be involved in an array of technical challenges including creating exciting, engaging products with innovative game concepts, while conforming to quality, regulatory, and jurisdictional requirements. This role sits in a cross-functional game development team including Producers, Project Managers, Graphic Artists, Mathematicians, Software Developers, Technical Artists and Test Engineers. This role supports International Casino games and products for other specialty markets. Central to the position is the candidate’s high degree of technical skill, flair for game development, and ability to drive results.
What You'll Do
• Deliver the game designer’s vision through understanding, designing and implementing game mechanics, paying particular attention to player experience.
• Design, develop, and maintain software using modern engineering practices.
• Develop server-side game logic components and game simulations
• Write unit tests and perform peer design/code reviews
• Provide technical solutions to complex problems and write technical documents
• Work closely with game designers to determine feasibility of game features
About You
• Strong proficiency in Java with a solid grasp of object-oriented design principles and best practices.
• Hands-on experience in server-side application development, including designing and maintaining scalable backend systems.
• Well-versed in SOLID principles, and design patterns, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Committed to code quality through effective unit testing and continuous improvement practices.
• Practical experience with Git and distributed version control systems, ensuring efficient collaboration in a multi-developer environment.
What We'd Prefer
• Proficient in full-stack development using React and NodeJS, with additional experience in JavaScript, C++, or Python.
• Familiar with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, and knowledgeable in Slot Math and Mechanics.
• Adaptable to global collaboration, with flexibility in work hours to support international teams.
