Overview
IGT is currently looking for a professional to join its global tax function and lead strategic projects related to realizing operational and financial efficiencies by aligning business model changes and improvements with strategic legal, tax, trade and treasury positions.
This role is especially relevant in today’s business and financial environment. Business models and value drivers in the gaming space are undergoing significant adjustment as the emergence of hardware, software, data availability, and online gaming converge to create new customer opportunities in new jurisdictions around the world. In addition, countries continue to accelerate their efforts to raise revenue enabled by new regulatory, tax and reporting requirements.
Given the advent of country-by-country reporting and master/local file requirements, there is an increasing need to manage and own IGT’s transfer pricing positions globally. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for IGT’s transfer pricing work-streams and the coordination of global transfer pricing positions. The candidate will also work directly with the business units to develop strategic transfer pricing processes for new business lines, such as online gaming.
Job Description
The role will lead and manage large projects from preliminary assessment phases through to the first monitoring and maintenance phases. This standardized process will cover at least four project phases: preliminary assessment, detailed design, execution, and monitoring and maintenance.
Proven ability to work independently and experience collaborating with senior leaders across key functional areas—such as legal, finance (operations and reporting), treasury, IT, strategy, supply chain, and business development—either as an advisor or a business leader, are essential.
The position will require:
- Deep technical expertise in international tax or transfer pricing,
- Broad global experience working on business model realignment, tax, trade, and other supply chain cost minimization projects,
- The experience and insight necessary to anticipate and mitigate both operational and reporting challenges that invariably arise as part of any business model restructuring, and
- A proven ability to manage fluid cross-functional teams of both direct and indirect reports to deliver results in a timely manner.
The role reports directly to the Vice President of Global Tax and is expected to work closely with senior tax, trade, finance, and operational leaders (stakeholders).
Success will be measured in terms of:
- Meeting agreed and documented development and implementation goals,
- The financial success of projects involved, and
- Stakeholder satisfaction—focused on responsiveness, completeness, and execution support.
Principal Accountabilities/Duties
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
• Lead and manage all international tax matters, including the foreign tax provision process, the review of all foreign tax compliance, and the implementation, review, and maintenance of global transfer pricing positions.
• Develop and implement global tax planning strategies to minimize the effective tax rate and maximize cash flow.
• Establishing process and control environment to ensure timely and accurate compliance with existing and emerging country-by-country and intercompany transaction reporting requirements.
• Servings as an integral part of our acquisition, divestiture, and restructuring teams as a subject matter expert, e.g., planning, due diligence.
• Establishing process and control environment to manage interaction with government agencies on all transfer pricing related issues; including audits, negotiating tax incentives, planning future investments, etc.
• Provide expertise on the following international tax areas: foreign tax credit, GILTI, FDII, 163(j), and ASC 740.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the tax team.
• Communicating the impact of all the above with our regional and global financial teams.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree in Taxation and a CPA license is ideal.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in transfer pricing and / or business model restructuring with Big 4 CPA firms or multi-national companies, at least 3 years of which were in a management positions.
• Solid knowledge of international tax with US GAAP knowledge desirable.
• Strong ability to develop initial positions / views to complex problems on their own.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently at times as well as closely and successfully with professionals of different backgrounds and cultures.
• Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines for US GAAP reporting needs and manage a number of projects at any one time.
• An ability to work as part of a dynamic leadership team to collaboratively solve complex problems innovatively.
• A positive, energetic, fun and happy attitude with a strong creativity streak; and
• A very strong personal ownership of projects and their outcomes.

That’s why our starting compensation range is $106,250 to $250,500, with room to go higher or lower depending on the full picture.
