Overview
The IT Asset Management Specialist II supports the lifecycle management of IT assets across the organization. This includes tracking, maintaining, and reconciling hardware and software inventories, assisting with procurement, and ensuring compliance with licensing and asset policies. This role is ideal for candidates with basic IT knowledge and strong organizational skills who are eager to grow in asset management and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of IT hardware and software assets
- Assist with receiving, tagging, and deploying IT equipment
- Update asset inventory databases and reconcile discrepancies
- Support audits and inventory reviews to ensure data integrity
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for asset procurement and delivery
- Track software licenses and ensure compliance with usage policies
- Help manage asset lifecycle activities including retirement and disposal
- Provide basic support for asset-related service requests via ticketing systems
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to support budgeting and forecasting
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1–2 years of experience in IT support, purchasing, or asset tracking (internships or coursework acceptable)
- Familiarity with asset management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, JAMF, or similar)
- Basic understanding of IT hardware and software components
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data tracking tools
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs as needed
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or related field preferred
- ITIL Foundation or Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) certification is a plus
