OVERVIEW:

The Director of Physical Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of physical security strategies across the organization. This role ensures the protection of personnel, assets, facilities, and proprietary information through effective security policies, systems, and procedures. The Director leads a team of security professionals, collaborates with internal stakeholders, and liaises with external agencies to maintain a safe and secure environment aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements. This role also requires staying actively engaged with local safety developments and emerging security trends to ensure the organization remains proactive and well-informed.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide physical security strategies aligned with corporate objectives.

• Provide leadership and guidance to regional and site-specific security teams, ensuring consistency and operational excellence.

• Oversee risk assessments, incident response protocols, and crisis management planning across all facilities.

• Partner with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, Facilities, and IT to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and security standards.

• Manage vendor relationships and oversee the deployment and maintenance of security technologies to safeguard infrastructure and assets.

• Monitor compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and internal policies, including FBI CJIS and OSHA regulations.

• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services for threat assessments, investigations, and joint response efforts.

• Stay actively engaged with local safety updates, law enforcement bulletins, and public safety initiatives.

• Keep abreast of emerging security trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the organization’s physical security posture.

• Prepare and present reports on security metrics, incidents, and strategic improvements to executive leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field

• 10+ years of progressive experience in cyber security, physical security, or military security operations.

• 5+ years in a leadership role managing multi-site or enterprise-level security programs.

 

Technical Proficiency:

• Expertise in physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems).

• Familiarity with security technologies, incident management platforms, and risk assessment tools.

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) and industry standards (e.g., ASIS, ISO 27001).

• Experience with security audits, investigations, and emergency response.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and executive reporting.

That’s why our starting compensation range is $106,250 to $250,500, with room to go higher or lower depending on the full picture. We also follow all local pay laws and collective bargaining agreements, so everything’s above board.
