Role Overview
We are looking for a Game Mathematician to join us in testing and delivering the next generation of video poker games.
We are seeking a passionate, adaptive, and hard-working game mathematician who is ready to apply their skills in this fast-paced creative industry. As a Game Mathematician, this position is responsible for analyzing and verifying that the mathematics of IGT’s casino gaming products conform to quality standards and jurisdictional requirements. This position independently calculates the expected pay of casino products, while collaborating with other Game Mathematicians and Game Designers to find the source of differences in results. This role will primarily support video poker games but will also include video keno and slots. This position requires both mathematical and technical skills, strong focus, and ability to work both individually and with other teams.
In your daily routine, you will work closely with Game Mathematicians and Project Managers as well as with consultants from external laboratories that verify the game before it is released to the market.

What You'll Do
• Using programming language of your choice (e.g. C++) and Excel to calculate video poker and keno games to confirm optimal strategy, pays, odds and game play
• Verifying game compliance with jurisdictional regulations
• Work closely with Game Designer to resolve differences and issues
• Be a contact person for requests and questions concerning game mathematics from the external laboratory
• Learn jurisdictional regulations and gain an understanding of their application to poker, keno and slot products
• Actively work on multiple projects concurrently
• Occasional international travel for training and industry events, and possible two weeks travel to the US for training.
About You
• University degree in Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics or a related field
• Proficiency in C++, C#, Python, Java, or a similar programming language and ability to demonstrate it during our assessment
• Technical English language skills (written and spoken) is required for communication with studios abroad
• Mathematical knowledge of statistics and probability is a must
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Being precise, detailed, and accurate
• Proactive and a team player (cooperating with other teams and having a curious mindset)
• Good communication skills
Bonus Points if You Have
• Work experience in mathematics, statistics, software engineering, or similar. Gaming industry experience is a big plus
• Masters or PhD in Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics or a related field
• Proficiency in C++ or C#

• Test – Candidates will be asked to complete different assignments in the area of combinatorics, probability calculation, and coding the mathematical logic of a game. You will have 7 days to complete the test.
